IMSA Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship and Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will both be held without specators this year.

Let’s face it. We’ll never get used to a race without fans. They create the environment and camaraderie that we love about race day. Sadly, two races this year at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca have been added to the spectator-less list.

Worries about social distancing and caution against COVID-19 are the culprits here. The IMSA Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship and Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will only be watchable from your couch this year. The races will not be open to general admission spectators, but will air on NBCSN, NBC or CNBC.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has options for ticket holders for either event. Purchasers may opt to transfer their ticket order to the 2021 event or receive a refund on tickets and camping. Please contact the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Tickets and Accommodations Office at [email protected] with any questions or to request a refund or credit by September 18, 2020 for Ferrari Challenge ticket holders, and October 23 for IMSA ticket holders, or your order will automatically transfer to the 2021 event.

The Ferrari Challenge Series is scheduled for the weekend of September 25-27. The series consists of six acclaimed circuits, organized by Ferrari North America and is sanctioned by IMSA. The Ferrari Challenge Series has evolved into the largest single-make GT series in North America since its beginnings in 1994. Today, drivers compete in the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo.

The IMSA Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championsip will run during the weekend of October 30 – November 1. The race doubles as the finale for the GTD class of the WeatherTech Sprint Cup season and will include the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
