Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing has been spotted displaying serious performance during testing.

Cadillac revealed the fourth generation V-Series models today, spearheaded by the 2020 CT4-V and CT5-V. While that’s exciting to hear, there’s a hidden little tidbit that might make us speed freaks raise our eyebrows. Two variants will carry the ultra-performance Blackwing name. These track demons will be called CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. With these two figureheads at the top of the Cadillac performance line, GM could once again capture the American performance sedan podium.

“The Blackwing name has come to represent the very best of Cadillac performance engineering, craftsmanship and technology,” said Brandon Vivian, Cadillac executive chief engineer. “The new CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing build on the brand’s respected legacy of ultimate-performance driving experiences and elevate them even further.”

While most Cadillacs radiate an underlying sleeper appearance, these new Blackwings could take that another step further. The supercars will feature specially tuned chassis, vehicle control technologies and engines. To compliment the driver experience, each model will be offered with a manual transmission, something that is sadly dying off.

Both the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing have been spotted at various tracks and road courses around the country. At Virginia International Raceway, each car shaved seconds off previous lap times set by the ATS-V and CTS-V.
