One of the coolest trucks ever, a 1962 Corvair Rampside built by Wayne Dick and LT Industries of Alberta, Canada won the El Segundo stop of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour. "Rampy" not only looks awesome, but there was clearly a lot of mechanical engineering and fabrication that had to be done to pull this off.

Rampy is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 mounted behind the cab in the truck’s bed, good for 460hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is routed through a four-speed transmission sourced from a C5 Corvette.  It’s slammed here in the pics for show purposes, thanks to its custom AccuAir set-up and C5 Corvette suspension.

Legends Tour stop winners are finalists in a global competition to have their cars become actual Hot Wheels die-casts. I’m wishing Dick good luck because as a Hot Wheel collector I’d love to add Rampy to the mix.

Since its launch in 2018 to commemorate Hot Wheels’ 50th Anniversary, the Legends Tour has grown from a series of Walmart-based events to the biggest traveling global car show & competition. I was lucky enough to attend the first, and I don’t see an end in sight because the world loves creativity, cars, and Hot Wheels.

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour concludes with a Live Stream Grand Finale on November 11. Check out the Legends Tour website for more information.
