On September 26th, 2020, the Petersen Automotive Museum will hold a digital gala auctioning a 1961 MGA Outlaw, a Scottish Castle trip, and more.
The Petersen Automotive Museum is putting together a digital gala featuring some eye-catching items. On September 26th, 2020, the museum will auction off several lots through the online auction Bring a Trailer for its upcoming digital gala experience.
Auction highlights include a fully restored 1961 MGA Outlaw and a lavish six-night stay in a Scottish castle complete with a private chef and house staff. Additional lots feature a once-in-a-lifetime ride with driver Bruce Canepa in a Porsche 935 at Sonoma Raceway and more.
Benefits from the auction will go towards the Petersen Automotive Museum Foundation, which provides educational programming for underprivileged students in the Los Angeles community.
“Each year, the gala provides significant funding for the Petersen Automotive Museum’s various programs from education of our guests to preservation of our collection,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “Although the gala looks different this year, the support is more critical than ever. By supporting the Petersen Automotive Museum’s gala, guests are ensuring that we can continue to educate youth, engage with the community, and preserve car culture for future generations.”
The 1961 MGA Outlaw featured in these photos is the first frame-off restoration completed entirely by the Petersen Museum. The flawless Outlaw features larger carbs, a hot cam, disc brakes, new suspension components, and a modern Oxblood interior. Tasteful wire wheels set off the exterior appearance.
The Petersen Automotive Museum’s 26th Annual Gala Celebration will be an entirely digital experience for ticket holders. In addition to the auction lots, guests will be treated to 45 minutes of exclusive content, archival footage, and a gift bag, which will be shipped right to their home addresses.
