Insanely Detailed Model Cars
And You Thought That Scale Model Cars Were Only For Kids
If you just glance at the images you might be mistaken, but these cars are "just" scale models of the real deal.

Better think again, because the dedicated engineers and artisans over across the pond in Bristol (UK) at the Amalgam Collection are dangling some amazingly detailed (and accordingly-priced), museum-quality, limited-run scale model cars in front of us just-as-dedicated car people that just boggle with their intricacy and detail.
With models in a number of scales from 1.1 (that's full size) to 1.12, the detail on every Amalgam offering that we've seen is nothing short of astounding. Of course, this sort of masterwork comes at a price. For example, a 1.4 - that's one-fourth the size of a real Mercedes-Benz-AMG W-11 Formula One car - will run a collector just under thirty-five thousand (yeah, US dollars) while an 1.18 scale model of the same will only set one back a bit under a grand.
OK ... agreed. This is a dream book for most of us, but I think having a close up look at these treasures is great fun no matter.
