Bay Cities Italian Deli in Santa Monica is an institution. Their bestselling sandwich known as the Godmother with works can feed multitudes, and the lines outside the store in this age of COVID are long.
The customers in line last Thursday around noon must have found it odd that somebody was willing to step away and devote all his attention to a strangely painted car in the deli’s parking lot. “It’s a Nissan,” declared authoritatively a man in line.
Well, my dear sir, it’s not a Nissan. And to the Daimler Benz engineers my compliments on selecting an outstanding lunch venue and disguising your test C Class sedan well. After all, to an untrained eye it does resemble a Nissan.
