Most car enthusiast would agree that what has become known as Monterey car week is the most exciting event on the calendar. Beginning with the pre-reunion at Weathertech Raceway, the following week is filled with car shows, auctions, vintage racing, tours and enough fried calamari to capsize an aircraft carrier.

The grand finale is the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Winning best of show at the beach is considered the Holy Grail among car collectors. Paired with the Pebble Beach Road Races, the Concours d’Elegance was on the spectacular 18th Fairway. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance remains the world’s most prestigious classic car event since it began in 1950.

As in previous years, various anniversaries were observed. This included the 70th anniversary of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the 50th anniversary of the Lamborghini Countach.

Special classes included Pininfarina, the racing engines of Los Angeles based Harry Miller, Pebble Beach Road Races vehicles, Iso Rivolta cars, early electric vehicles and the veterans of Carerra Panamericana races.
