The Car Show held its first-ever virtual event during Petersen Car Week on August 13, 2020. This 1977 Toyota Celica is owned by Koji Yamaguchi and came away with first place.

This particular Celica is beautifully original in its features and striking in design. The car is equipped with tasteful period-correct mechanical modifications. Under the hood, the Celica features an 18R-G engine. Elsewhere, the car has a Nardi classic steering wheel, upgraded front coilovers, and other personalized touches. The Celica also boasts the original tan hue, which is complimented nicely by a clean black interior.

“This 1977 Toyota Celica embodies what the Future Collector Car Show is all about,” said Head Judge Andy Reid. “These cars used to be daily drivers. They were used, abused but loved by a generation of enthusiasts. Because they were so accessible, their numbers have dwindled while the nostalgia has only grown stronger. Even 40 years on, they are still a blast to drive, and that will never change.”

Future Collector Car Show will return to High Street in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 17, 2021.
