2025 Genesis G90 3.5 T AWD

The 2025 Genesis G90 is a six-figure affordable alternative to a Mercedes-Benz
You have probably heard of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and marveled at its stunning beauty while shrieking at its high price tag. Well, the 2025 Genesis G90 aims to give you everything the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has, but at a far lower price. However, that lower price is still in the six-figure range.

The G90 is the South Korean automaker’s flagship sedan in the lineup as it has everything that anyone could want, except a driver. This extra-large sedan offers a lot of luxurious amenities and it drives well, but as you will see, it’s far better to driven in than to drive. Here is why.
Interior
Sit inside the Genesis G90 and it will be clear that this is a very plush car. The interior is decked out in Nappa leather with a suede headliner and a quilted pattern on all the seats. Its Bordeaux-colored interior gives it a rich look as well, but it also makes it look like a catcher’s mitt joined forces with a grandma’s couch. Jokes aside, the Genesis G90’s interior is supremely comfortable and inviting with plenty of space up front and an insane amount of space in the rear seat area.

The front seats are very supportive and power-adjustable with massage functions to keep you alert and relaxed while driving. The doors are also power closing, which are operated with the touch of a button on the center console or on the doors themselves. There are also many switches and buttons on the dashboard to control the HVAC controls, but they are all nicely laid out and within easy reach.

Now, for the back seat, which seats three across it. However, you can fold the center armrest down to reveal a touchscreen and power-adjust controls for the outboard rear seats. The best spot in the car in the passenger-side, which has an ottoman that folds out when you press a button on the door panel. The ottoman slides out while the front passenger seat moves forward to reveal a ton of space for lounging.
On top of that, the rear seats have a massage and heating function, as well as memory settings. There are also power-folding curtains for the side windows and the rear windscreen to keep the prying eyes of peasants away. This is a car for executives and the elite, after all.
Exterior
The Genesis G90 is a stunning car, especially with its matter Verbier white finish. It looks like a porcelain doll’s skin up close, and gives it a classy look from 10 feet away. Measuring 207 inches, the G90 is a massive sedan, but it’s actually a little shorter than the Mercedes S-Class, which stretches to 208.2 inches bumper to bumper.

The G90’s enormous length does not look disproportionate, though. I think the large 21-inch wheels help, as do the large front grille and elongated trunk area. The G90 may look unconventional compared to the S-Class, but it’s a unique look that I can get behind.
Powertrain and Driving Impressions
The Genesis G90 is powered by a couple of different twin-turbo V6 engines. The base model has a 375-horsepower version, but the one I tested was the up-level E-supercharged model that produces 409 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. It gets the additional horsepower from an electric supercharger that’s powered by a 48-volt hybrid system. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and sends its power to all four wheels. The car also has four-wheel steering for some added agility, the car weighs over 5,000 pounds, after all.

When it comes to driving the G90, it’s super smooth around town and on the highway. The engine picks up quickly and smoothly and the transmission shifts are barely detectable. The cabin itself is extremely quiet and its standard air suspension makes it feel like you’re driving a cloud. To make the ride even better, at least for the rear-seat passengers, there is a “chauffeur mode,” which optimizes the suspension to for a smoother ride, particularly in the rear end of the car. We wouldn’t want to disturb the royalty we’re giving rides to.
Technology
As you can imagine, the Genesis G90 is overflowing with technology. Aside from the seat massagers, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, and powered doors, the G90 has all the entertainment features you would want. That includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, and a Genesis digital key. There’s even a fingerprint authentication button for easy car starting without the key.

My only bone to pick with Genesis is that the smartphone integration is not wireless. For a car that costs over $100,000, I don’t want to have to use my iPhone cable to connect my phone, thank you. The Bang and Olufsen sound system was amazing, though.
Safety
The G90 has all the safety features you need as well, including driver-assist features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, a driver-attention warning, blind-spot assist, and a parking distance warning.

I found that the driver-assist features worked well as the cruise control function read the lines in the road and the car ahead just fine without ping-ponging the car in the lane or slowing for no reason.
Summary
If you’re part of the wealthy elite that can afford a car like the 2025 Genesis G90, then I would say that spending $102,000 on it is actually a bargain. You can easily spend over $40,000 more on a fully-loaded Mercedes-Benz S-Class and still not get the same features that this car has.

Sure, it may not have some of the more premium or softer touches the Mercedes does, but it’s an impressive and very well-executed car that’s worth every dollar it commands.
