The good folks at The Pete sent us a press release, letting us know that they are pretty much fully reopened again (yay!)... We're just going to run this release straight up: it's crammed full of good news.. Live, in-person, attendance at this L.A. bastion of automotive lore, legend, history, tech, fun, function, and the downright joy of all things automotive.
Hey Kids (of all ages)! What Time Is It???
That's Right!!! It's Get Back To The Petersen Time!
The staff at The Petersen Automotive Museum did a world-class job of keeping the flame burning during the year of Covid closures - with a masterful display of virtuosity in virtual presentations ... but now the real deal is the real place and a real in-person visit is really needed.. After all, there's only so much that you can see on a computer screen, even if it's a nice big one.
Plan a trip ... the experience will be well worth it! -DS
Press Release From The Pete
The museum is now open six days a week, offering guided tours in The Vault presented by Hagerty and access to its interactive galleries including the Forza Motorsport Racing Experience and Pixar Discovery Center
LOS ANGELES (July 2, 2021) – Starting today, the Petersen Automotive Museum is extending its business hours to include Tuesdays, restarting its docent-guided tours in The Vault presented by Hagerty and reopening its Forza racing simulators for public use. The museum is also reopening its highly interactive Pixar Discovery Center for kids, which is home to the Cars Mechanical Institute.
“As the state of California has continued to reopen, we are excited to reopen along with it and resume some of the initiatives and experiences we had in place pre-pandemic,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “The Petersen experience is educational by nature and hands-on; interactive learning is one of the most valuable tools to stimulate both sides of the brain. Docent-guided tours and captivating experiences for children are an important part of the experience we provide at the museum to educate the public about the automobile.”
The Petersen Automotive Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will remain closed on Mondays. Tickets for visitors must be purchased in advance on the museum website, and all guests will continue to be required to wear masks during their visit.
