The Presenters

Taylor Hawkins is an Emmy-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles, specializing in directing and cinematography. He has worked with major brands like Nike, the NFL, Amazon, and Microsoft, earning him awards, viral success, and recognition at prestigious film festivals. We are pleased that his newest documentary, which is on racing safety and was shot mainly in Monaco, will be shown at our seminar.

Mike Hurst serves as the SFI Foundation’s Technical Manager and is also an active rally driver, plus he assists with the organization of rally events. He will again share with us some of his practical safety tips, as well as provide some insight into young racer safety protection.

Danny Thompson has most recently been recognized for setting the wheel-driven, piston-engine-powered speed record at Bonneville in Challenger II, a car originally built by his father Mickey Thompson. Danny’s racing experience includes drag racing, off-road, and road racing as well as competing with his own team in the MTEG Stadium Truck race series. Through the years he has collected many colorful stories to tell us about his close-calls and what he has learned about racing safely.

It aims to achieve this goal in collaboration with medical and scientific bodies, professional drivers and major racing series’ entities (FIA, SFI, NHRA, SCTA, SCCA, SCORE…) in order to bring awareness of safety issues, and offer solutions to the forefront of the motor racing world.
