Enthusiasts can submit a short video of their vehicle, which will then be compiled into a 90-minute YouTube video airing on April 26.
By staying in compliance with social distancing guidelines, entertainment has turned to the unconventional. The Petersen Museum has once again thought outside the box and will put on a traditional Cars and Coffee available to the entire world. Enthusiasts that span the globe will have the opportunity to submit a short video of their pride and joy to the Petersen Museum for a chance to be featured in a 90-minute YouTube video. The car compilation will be uploaded on April 26, 2020.
“Our Breakfast Club Cruise-Ins have become an integral part of the Los Angeles car community over the past eight years,” said Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “We didn’t want to stop the tradition this month because of the pandemic, so we had to get creative to keep it going and also make it more inclusive than ever before. We look forward to seeing the stories from enthusiasts all over the globe and sharing their passion in a way that unites us all in spirit even while we are standing apart.”
Here’s how it works in three easy steps:
- Record a short, 20- to 30-second video of your car using your phone (exterior, interior, engine and start-up). Videos must be shot in landscape format (held horizontally).
- Upload your video to one of the following services: Dropbox, Google Drive or YouTube
- Fill out the form on https://www.petersen.org/cars-and-coffee-online with your information, car story and video link.
During the premiere, the Petersen will host a poll to vote on the People’s Choice Award. Following that, the museum will announce the Petersen Perfection award and the Best in Show. All awards will be shipped to their owners after the event has concluded.
