Galpin Auto Sports will star as the featured shop in the new show, which follows the world-famous Galpin team as they restore one-of-a-kind cars.
The new “DRIVEN” TV series on the Discovery channel will premier on Monday, March 30, 2020 with some locally familiar faces. Galpin Auto Sports, a division of Galpin Motors, is one of the leading customization shops in Southern California. The new TV series will follow Galpin President and COO Beau Boeckmann, custom car builder Dave Shuten, and customization specialist “Mad Mike” Martin. The structure of the show is to uncover historic, one-of-a-kind cars to restore and reintroduce back into the automotive world.
The first episode already boasts an incredible find. Boeckmann and the Galpin team resurrect a unique DeTomaso Pantera that Carroll Shelby modified with Lee Iacocca. This secret Pantera project would eventually evolve into the Viper.
“DRIVEN” will show the Galpin crew’s passion for vehicle performance and car culture as they attend some of the biggest automotive competitions. The crew will even test their vehicles on the toughest tracks and unveil some of the most influential cars to ever come through their shop.
Beau Boeckmann is the driving force behind Galpin Auto Sports. He’s grown up in the showrooms of Galpin Motors and has a driven passion for rare, historical cars and original customs. Dave Shuten is the chief designer of Galpin Speed Shop and has led several major car builds and restorations. The Pink Panther Limo, the Ed “Big Daddy” Roth Ford Pick Up and the ’34 Ford 5-Window Coupe known as Iron Orchid make up his resumé. Completing the trio is customization specialist “Mad Mike” Martin – most famous for his wild creations on MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”. Combined, this three-man team bring plenty of experience and personality to the show.
“DRIVEN” will air every Monday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel, premiering on March 30, 2020. Episodes will be available on the Discovery GO app.
