The last time we saw a Macan GTS was in 2017. Now, the sportier version of the compact SUV makes a comeback, presenting 15 more horsepower. The GTS has proven to be quite popular, given that it offers most of the desired perks without paying for unnecessary amenities.

The 2.9L twin turbo V6 delivers an impressive 375 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, enough to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, or 4.5 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package. The direct responsiveness from the engine along with adaptive air suspension give the owner an exciting driving experience. ‘GTS’ stands for ‘Gran Turismo Sport’, and the Macan GTS definitely showcases that.

A top speed of 162 mph is effortlessly slowed by the huge brakes (14.1 inches up front, 12.9 inches in the rear). The 20 inch RS Spyder Design wheels are coated in Satin Black, and along with the red brake calipers, complete the sporty look.

On the exterior, not much has changed from previous models, just a few slight facelift alterations. Black glossy components have been added, such as a rear diffuser and front fascia. A Sport Exhaust System allows the 2.9L engine to sing freely with that recognizable Porsche cackle.

Inside, you’re surrounded by Alcantara, giving everything from the door panels to the center console armrests a plush texture. The leather sport steering wheel is standard, as well as the GTS-exclusive sport seats. Personalization options include a BOSE surround sound system, Park Assist with Surround View, and a heated windshield.

Look for the new Macan GTS to hit dealerships in summer of 2020, with the MSRP starting at $71,300 excluding the $1,350 destination fee.

The Macan is Porsche’s best selling model of 2019, and the GTS looks to hit the sweet spot, giving owners upgraded performance and select options without paying top dollar.
