America’s only four-door muscle car is still going strong without draining your wallet.

While the sedan market keeps shrinking here the in US, Dodge continues to go against the grain and produce an extensive lineup of ‘traditional’ cars. The standard 3.6L V6 in the new Charger produces a nice 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque and is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The real kicker here is the all wheel drive system, and is marketed to ‘deliver all-weather driving confidence wrapped in a muscle car attitude’. Of course, living in Los Angeles, snow and slush doesn’t affect us. But if you decide to take a little trip to where the winter weather is a factor, why not enjoy it in a capable AWD muscle car?

To give the classic muscle car feel, the Charger GT AWD stays in rear wheel drive by default, and the AWD system engages and disengages the front differential depending on conditions. If the wheels detect any need for additional traction, the AWD system kicks in without driver intervention. For drivers who want constant AWD, pressing the Sport button will engage the AWD system full-time.

Dodge cuts right to the chase, giving three main purchase reasons: exterior styling, fun to drive, and power. The Charger continues the aggressive exterior look, while including tasteful additions inside, such as high-bolstered seats and paddle shifters.

For the first time, the Charger GT AWD takes the Charger’s fierce performance exterior and features, including performance hood, fascia, sculpted side sills, spoiler, high-bolstered seats and performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, and mixes it up with all-weather capable all-wheel drive on America’s only four-door muscle car

The Charger has never had an issue with looking like a muscle car, and enhances that even further with the 2020 model. A scooped hood, beefy fascia, sculpted side sills, and a rear spoiler complete the menacing design.

The new 2020 Charger GT AWD is expected to start at $34,995, not including the $1,495 destination charge.

Overall, the new Charger GT AWD presents true road condition versatility, while still appearing to flex those muscle car muscles all the way down the highway.
