Rusnak steps in to help the communities it serves by providing delivery vehicles and drivers to local restaurants for meal deliveries to first responders, healthcare workers, and the homeless.
One of the biggest daily challenges that the coronavirus pandemic and associated shelter-in-place have posed is getting food. Throughout the crisis, the Rusnak Auto Group, a fixture of the automotive industry in Southern California, has been helping by supplying vehicles to restaurants to facilitate deliveries of meal donations to those most in need.
Rusnak Auto Group completed three meal deliveries to the Family Center at Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to help individuals and families rebuild their lives, and it is the San Gabriel Valley’s largest social service agency assisting homeless and very low-income adults and families. Union Station Homeless Services needed to expand their meal programs to meet the needs of their clients. The donated meals were transported and delivered to the parents and kids who reside at the family center.
Supporting first responders by delivering meals is one way Rusnak decided to thank the Los Angeles Fire Department and all of the first responders for continually protecting us and keeping us safe. Rusnak teamed up with George’s Burgers to provide a delivery vehicle to deliver Bean & Cheese Burritos to three local Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Stations. They were able to supply 40 of the city’s heroes with meals during their shifts.
In Arcadia, Rusnak’s Mercedes-Benz dealership delivered meals donated from the local Claro’s Italian Markets store to 60 frontline healthcare workers at Methodist Hospital of Southern California.
In addition to facilitating deliveries to essential workers and homeless, Rusnak also stepped in to help keep local restaurants afloat by providing vehicles for deliveries to consumers. The group partnered with DTLA’s Guerrilla Taco’s to help them deliver their “emergency taco kits” to customers (and sidestep potentially excessive fees from Grubhub and the like).
Sadly, images of luxury cars set on fire have were prominently featured in the news in the last week. We love seeing Rusnak’s cars being put to good use in throughout Southern California. We hope more dealers will take Rusnak’s lead and pitch in to help us through this difficult time.
The video above shows how Rusnak is participating in the “Great Plates Delivered” program, which delivers meals to seniors and other high-risk adults affected by COVID-19.
