Some say that August is the Sunday of summer; it’s still enjoyable, but deep down you know summer is coming to an end. While the summer of 2020 has definitely been a strange one, Chevy looks to preserve a summer staple: cars. Car shows, meets and museums have all been hit by the challenges of COVID-19 this year, and many car events are transitioning to virtual.

That’s how Chevrolet is reimagining summer car cruising this year: going virtual. Cruisin’ the USA in your Chevrolet will be a week-long festival crammed full of history, legacies, and trivia about the Chevy brand. The event will be hosted on Chevy’s social media channels from August 10-16 and is designed to take viewers back in time to experience the brand’s rich heritage of innovation, design, and passion.

“Classic car events have served as a place for us to honor Chevrolet’s deep automotive history and its influence on our present and future with car enthusiasts from around the world,” said Steve Majoros, vice president of marketing, Chevrolet. “Cruisin’ the USA in your Chevrolet is a way for us to keep that spirit alive.”

Each day of the festival will focus on a different theme and provide immersive historic footage, guest appearances, trivia and more. Some of the brand’s most iconic vehicles from the GM Heritage Center will be explored with Chevy experts, along with their own custom Chevy builds.

The festival will kick off with a throwback to 1911, when Chevrolet was founded by Lois Chevrolet and Billy Durant. Viewers will be treated to rare archival photos and videos from the last 109 years showcasing the prowess of Chevrolet.

Schedule of Events:

  • August 10: The Origins and Innovations of Chevrolet
  • August 11: Chevy’s Most Iconic Designs
  • August 12: The Proud Truck Tradition
  • August 13: The Peak of Performance
