1966 PLYMOUTH BELVEDERE IS LEAST JUNKED CAR IN AMERICA? HOT WIRE—Ever wonder which cars do best to avoid the junkyard? Conversely, which ones go on to die an early death? And just where do they go to die? More specifically, which make and models hit the proverbial road prematurely—and which are able to go on and on? According to Planet Junk Car’s database of 33,000 junked vehicles, the least junked car in America is the 1966 Plymouth Belvedere. Introduced in 1951, the Plymouth Cranbrook Belvedere arrived as a two-door pillarless hardtop. In 1954, Plymouth dropped the Cranbrook name, and the Belvedere became the carmaker’s top-of-the-line offering. In the late 1960s, the television show “Adam-12” featured a black and white Belvedere as one of the show’s stars. Today, there are approximately 200,000 1966 Belvedere automobiles produced, according to PJC.
